Excess Hair Removal

While male body hair has always been seen as a sign of masculinity these days men often prefer a smoother look. We offer a progressively permanent method of removing unwanted body hair.

Superfluous hair on face or body can be caused by hormones, heredity or certain medical conditions. The good news is that these days there is a lasting solution to excess body or facial hair – photo epilation by Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).

How Intense Pulsed Light works on unwanted hair

Pulsed light is a heat source which is absorbed more readily by the hair than by the surrounding skin. The specific wavelengths of light released from the filtered hand piece target melanin in the hair shaft. The light thus damages the hair follicle without affecting the skin.

The pulse pattern of the light allows the skin to cool during the process, which ensures that the treatment is both safe and effective on most skin types and hair colours. It offers long lasting results, though a series of treatments will be needed to clear larger areas of unwanted hair. This form of progressively permanent hair removal is suitable for both men and women.

IPL penetrates the hair follicle allowing hair removal without affecting surrounding skin. The wavelengths targeting superfluous hair are absorbed by melanin in the hairshaft, heating it and thus destroying it. Since hair is in different growing phases, not all hair will be destroyed in one session. A course of treatment is usually recommended.
