We are now using Intense Pulsed Light systems - using beams of light at varying wavelengths - to rejuvenate and improve skin. IPL can gradually fade away pigmentation (even Rosacea redness), eliminate thread veins, remove superfluous hair, and reduce the signs of ageing. Intense Pulsed Light also stimulates collagen production to improve the skin's elasticity, thus firming it and minimising lines. The results are gradual, but obvious, and in most cases there is no 'downtime'.
Intense Pulsed Light is being hailed, by medics, and skincare gurus, as the anti-ageing breakthrough we've all been waiting for. Some eminent US dermatologists have gone as far as to say each session of IPL rejuvenates the skin by two years... Certainly the effects of the treatments keep on growing within the skin for weeks after each treatment.
As one client puts it: "It's like growing slowly younger day by day."
Sunspots, and dark pigmentation caused by the over-production of melanin in the skin can be successfully treated with IPL, producing a more even skin tone. The IPL targets the melanin, not surrounding areas of the skin. After treatment the spots may darken temporarily before they fade away.

Using the vascular handpiece on our IPL system we can target thread veins without affecting the surrounding skin. The filtered light in the handpiece targets haemoglobin thus heating the blood and destroying the vein.

Using the specific wavelength for anti-ageing, IPL can stimulate the fibroblasts in the skin, thus increasing collagen and elastin, to plump out wrinkles and make skin look firmer and more youthful. The effects are cumulative.
